DLVSC Duo Return After Training In Spain With La Liga Select

Two DLVSC players recently traveled to Spain to train with LaLiga Select.

Ryder Breedan who playes for our 2005 gold team was discovered while playing in the Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup. The Coronado high school junior was contacted shortly after the tournament and was told he was in the final running to get a spot.  A couple of days later, he was selected.

Like Ryder, Camden Young was also selected during the Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup.  Camdon was contacted by email and then told that he was invited to train in Spain with La Liga Select. The Palo Verde fresman plays for the DLVSC 2006 Gold team.

The trip was very organized with training sessions, games,  tours of stadiums and attendance in La Liga games.

“They let us know what it was like to be a pro player, said Ryder about his experince.  “The schedule was very organized and they had a lot for us to do.”  Camden noted that there were people who would come up to him and ask him if he was a professional player.

Although both boys were participating, they were assigned to diffrent teams in different age groups.

The nine day trip consisted of Real Madrid training Sessions, and either a game with a La Liga academy team, or attendance at the Li Liga match.  Some of the activities were cancelled because of a rare sand storm that had come into the area.  One of the highlights of the trip was the tour of the stadium used by Atletico Madrid.

It was a great experience for the boys and a great opportunity for them to see what it is like to play at the professional level
