USA Defeats Mexico 1-0 In Las Vegas
The USMNT beat Mexico in added extra time to with the CONCACAF Gold Cup. It was the first time the USA has played an international competition in Las Vegas. Mexico has played in Las Vegas before when they played Iceland at the Sam Boyd Silverbowl.
Miles Robinson headed the winner in at the 117th minute. The ball came from a Kellyn Acosta free kick. Like classic Mexico vs USA games of the past, Mexico dominated play for most of the the game, but could not convert. The USA had some great chances as well and as the scoreless game went on, the prospect of having to settle it in penalty kicks looked possible.
It was a great honor for Las Vegas to host this epic event. We hope it is just he first of many times we get to see the USMNT play here.
