Downtown Las Vegas Soccer Club 2004 Gold Win First Game of National Championship Series Finals

The 2004 Gold team has taken their first game towards a national championship by defeating OK Energy 3-0.

Richard Antonucci opened the scoring in the 33rd minute with a hard shot from the center of the box. The OK keeper got a piece of it, but it wasn’t enough to keep the ball out of the net. The second goal came soon after the start of the second half. Tyler Moon was waiting at the back post to easily slot in the insurance payments. In the 65th minute, Tyler Moon made a beautiful cross and Sheridan Rodriguez was able to beat his defender and put the final nail into OD Energy’s coffin.

The defense was solid all night and never gave OK much hope. Keeper Drake Schell was solid in the nets and book his first National Finals clean sheet.

The boys will be in action again on Wednesday night when they take on Raiders FC from Illinois. Unlike the game against OK Energy and the third game against PA Dominion from PA.
