Developmental (Stage 2: U9 & U10)

Downtown Las Vegas Soccer Club’s (DLVSC’s) curriculum now continues to improve and increase the player’s technical skills while also introducing tactical concepts for games at 7 v. 7. Each and every session will be delivered in a fun, safe and inclusive way to ensure all players develop accordingly their own specific skill sets. An increased focus on players technical and tactical skills will be evident throughout sessions along with the aims of developing the players social and physical literacy skills.

This age bracket provides our coaches with the opportunity to expose players to different positions to provide them with an experience and an understanding of the skills required to play anywhere on the field. As with any small side games, our sessions will look to improve upskill players in their one on one play on both sides of the ball to ensure they are capable of both attacking and defending when necessary. As a club, we aim to provide our players with an environment, both in practice and in games where they can express themselves, learn and enjoy the game.

Each team will be coached by a qualified staff coach
Each squad will consist of 10/11 players
Practice will be held twice a week for a duration of 60 minutes from August to May
Teams will play regular games, both in the Fall and the Spring

The DLVSC curriculum is constantly evolving and developing in order to provide our players with the most effective learning environment. At this age, we focus more on physical literacy development and the improvement of technique rather than any tactical concepts. Throughout the season our DLVSC coaches will aim to develop the young players physically, emotionally, cognitively and socially. These 4 areas are the cornerstones of our DLVSC curriculum which looks to holistically develop each and every player within our club. Every session is designed and delivered in a player-centered way to ensure they develop fully while also having fun and developing a love for the game. The coaches within our club are experts at engaging with young players to ensure they are always challenged and are continually developing their attributes and skillset.

Our coaches aim to see the following attributes being developed in players at this age:
